Greetings, Community Christian Fam and Fans!

Happy New Year!

Our first devotion for 2026 was entitled, Get Ready for New Adventures! These words from Jesus rang out on our first day back: “It’s a new year, and I have a great adventure planned for you. Come to Me with a heart that is willing to be changed. Don’t make the same mistakes you made last year. This year, try doing things My way.”

Honestly, I can hardly believe all that God did in 2025, but here He is saying, “but wait, there’s more!” Our most recent memory verse comes from Jeremiah 29:11. “‘For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord…” Though specifically spoken to the people of Israel, we can also rest in the certainty that Yahweh Yireh does indeed have a plan for us. A plan that is undeniably better than our own.

Not only does the Lord have plans for us, He provides everything we need to fulfill them. Since March 2025, Community Christian has received over $30,000 in monetary and in-kind contributions. This is just a small fraction of our original goal, but has been more than enough for us to begin the process of preparing the next generation of Kingdom builders to impact the world for Christ. The generosity of our supporters has been truly overwhelming. On behalf of the Community Christian team, I extend a heartfelt “thank you!”

On Friday morning, one of our students opened with a prayer of thanksgiving exclaiming, “Thank you Lord for this little school house you have blessed us with.” This reminded me of a song my mother used to sing by Danniebelle Hall entitled, “Ordinary People.” The chorus ends with these reflective lyrics: “…because little becomes much when you place it in the Master’s hands.” Well, here we are in 2026, just ordinary people, in a little school house, doing extraordinary things for God’s children and His Kingdom.

We are so excited to share what God has been doing and implore you to keep our learning community in prayer as we continue on this adventure of a lifetime! I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter and look forward to seeing you soon at one of our upcoming events.

Join us on Tuesday, January 27th from 7-7:30 PM via Zoom to learn more about how you can support Community Christian with your tax dollars. This is a risk free way of making a difference for our Community Christian family and won’t “actually” cost you one cent!

Adam Bowling from the Ohio Christian Education Network (our scholarship granting organization) will be joining us to explain how the program works and answer any questions you may have. Adam is passionate about Christian education and very knowledgeable about the SGO program.

National School Choice Week is coming up, January 25th-31st! This week is meant to raise awareness about educational options and celebrate a parent’s right to choose where their child is educated.

Community Christian is among few Christian schools with a “microschool vibe!” Our community is pretty unconventional and perfect for students whose learning style or personality may be viewed in the same way. We are so proud of what God has established here and invite you to celebrate with us as we celebrate School Choice Week, ‘26!

Join us at 6 PM on February 13th for a celebration of black excellence! We are excited to showcase our student dioramas, an African-American History Quilt Project, and share in some delicious soul food bites. For $1, per sample, you may try our homemade braised neckbones, red beans and rice, collard greens, baked macaroni and cheese, candied sweet potatoes, cornbread, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and old-fashioned caramel cake.

Community Christian Kingdom Builders at Carillon Historical Park

Since our last update, the Kingdom Builders have traveled across the Dayton area to learn about Dayton history at Carillon Park, experience the magic of The Nutcracker at the Schuster Center, enjoy the premiere of the new animated picture, David: The Movie, and learn about and participate in the art of pizza making at Pies & Pints Pizzeria!

In November, we served our community at Dayton Right to Life, sorting and packaging 6,482 baby wipes, 986 diapers, and 192 baby food pouches. In December, our friend, Ms. Nicole, from Love is a Verb led us in creating over thirty love bins filled with personal care items. The love bins were added to our 42 gallon collection box that overflowed with non-perishable donations for With God’s Grace Mobile Food Pantry. We have many more trips planned for this school year and would love your support. If you’re interested in sponsoring a trip or know of an enrichment or missions opportunity, please let us know!

We are looking for new, or gently used and reliable, transportation (that seats no more than 12). We are currently at max capacity and want to continue offering regular Community Collaborative experiences for our young Kingdom builders as we grow. Send any leads our way. We’re ready to roll!
